This is the story during one of the visits of my parents to me. They had heard a lot about this naturopathic hospital in the city where I lived in. I took my mother to the hospital and we were waiting for our turn to see the doctor. The hospital has a sprawling campus and quite pleasant as well. All the waiting areas had a view to the garden around the building.
While seating, my mother’s sight fell on a tap in the garden which was slightly left open and water was dripping out of it. A background bit here – my parents live in a town, of course where I grew up, is known for scanty rainfall and scarcity of water. My mother is expert at reusing and recycling water and could never bear wastage of even a bowl of water and the scene here was much beyond her tolerance. She got up in nervousness and sped up to the collapsible door opening into the garden. It’s then she realized that the door was locked. The tap was just outside the door, but she was unable to do anything about it. She was not in a mood to give up. It would have been quite a circuitous route to go to the main door to come out of the building, so she looked around for if there was someone in the garden and to her pleasure, she saw a hospital staff lurking around. She called him near to the door and then requested him to close the tap properly. The guy leaped towards the tap and closed it. My mother, quite relieved already, but was looking for appreciation from the hospital staff for she being so caring. What happened next was beyond her comprehension. The guy, with sheepish smile advanced towards her and said, “Inaam (the tip) please, Madam!”.
